Networking Tip: Depth or Width

Marketing smarter includes meeting and getting to know people; face-to-face and online. Spending time building relationships is imperative to growth and sustainable profits.

Tip: work the depth with as much vigor as you work width.

Meet new people and have good 1:1 meetings, but go deeper with each of these people to have 1:1s "in depth."

LinkedIn experts will tell you that your most important connections are the 2nd and 3rd level. This is the same with your face-to-face and other social media relationships.

It's exciting when you meet some for the first time (face-to-face) and they say "I know you. You've shared my Tweets and posts on LinkedIn."

There's a universe out there. Don't limit yourself.
